At the International Association of CyberPsychology, Training & Rehabilitation’s (iACToR) 18th Annual CyberPsychology and CyberTherapy Conference (CYBER18), awards are presented to pay tribute to individuals for their outstanding achievements. This year’s conference will feature three types of awards delivered in a luncheon ceremony.

• Lifetime Achievement Award

To celebrate more than a decade of exciting advances in cybertherapy as well as the growth of the CyberPsychology and CyberTherapy conference itself, we are proud to announce the 8th Annual CyberTherapy Lifetime Achievement Award. This award has a tradition of honoring a person who has demonstrated outstanding lifetime achievements in the fields of advanced technologies and healthcare. It is the highest honor given by our community.

All members of the CyberPsychology and CyberTherapy Conference program committee are invited to nominate one of their colleagues as a recipient of this award, which promises to honor a long line of esteemed researchers.

The 2012 recipient was Professor Dr. Marino Alca?z. Previous recipients include Professor Dr. Stephane Bouchard (2005), Professor Dr. Brenda K. Wiederhold (2006), Professor Dr. Giuseppe Riva (2007), Professor Dr. Cristina Botella (2008), Professor Dr. Hunter Hoffman (2009), Professor Dr. Sun I. Kim (2010) and Dr. Mark Wiederhold (2011). CRC-Clinical Cyberpsychology New Investigator Award for a presentation of outstanding research quality

The aim of this award is to reward the presentation of strong methodological studies at the CyberPsychology and CyberTherapy conference. The recipient must be a researcher who is new to the field of cyberpsychology.

As the ideas behind CyberTherapy move from imagination to reality, it is important to keep in mind the need for objective feedback on the efficacy of new tools and protocols. The aim of the new Investigator Award is to reward the presentation of strong methodological studies at the CyberTherapy conference. The recipient must be a researcher who is new to the field of cyberpsychology. The award is open to both oral or poster presentations and to researchers from all countries and disciplines, and is delivered by Stephane Bouchard, Chairholder of the Canada Research Chair in Clinical Cyberpsychology. It includes a certificate and a check of $1,000.

CRC-Clinical Cyberpsychology New Investigator Award for a presentation of outstanding research quality

Rules of Attribution (MUST READ) The first criterion to assess the submissions is the scientific merit of the study. Rigorous designs, reliable measurements, adequate sample sizes, appropriate statistical analysis and strong control conditions are all significant assets. The scientific quality of the content of the presentation also contributes to the decision (e.g. clear and replicable descriptions of the methodology). The recipient must be the first author of the presentation, be a new investigator, pay registration dues, personally attend the conference and submit the presentation by the deadline. To know how to apply to this award, please read the detailed instructions below and submit your presentation at stephane.bouchard@uqo.ca. All reviews will be made by the chairholder of the CRC-Clinical Cyberpsychology, except for presentations involving collaborators to the Chair (e.g. students, co- investigators). The best submissions will be selected, ranked and ordered by Stéphane Bouchard according to their scientific merit. Submissions from collaborators to the Chair will be reviewed by an independent reviewer and will be compared to those rank-ordered and placed accordingly. To maximize impartiality, the decision of the independent reviewer will be final. This award is sponsored by the Canada Research Chair in Clinical Cyberpsychology at the Universite du Quebec en Outaouais, Canada.

• Young Minds Research Awards

Today’s students are tomorrow’s leaders. To showcase outstanding achievements in a student poster submission to the Annual Conference, these awards are presented to those projects judged to have the greatest potential to contribute to the innovative field of cyberpsychology, cybertherapy, training, & rehabilitation.
